At BWG Health, we are proud to support Golfclub Grünbach in its groundbreaking GolfBiodivers project! During our recent visit to GC Erding-Grünbach, we were granted exciting insights into this innovative endeavor:
In recent weeks, the club's greenkeepers have meticulously worked on selected areas to loosen the turf and sow a variety of flowering, traditional meadow plant seeds. With a total of approximately 40 different species such as cornflowers, meadow knotweed, bellflowers, and campions, they aim to increase the diversity of herbaceous flowering plants in the meadows. The ultimate goal? Improving the food supply for butterflies, wild bees, and other vital pollinators.
What makes the project particularly fascinating is not only the apparent beautification of the course but also the scientific approach behind it. The effectiveness of these measures is being observed and documented over an extended period. From the charming 'bee houses' that have already emerged this summer to the dedicated employees of TU Munich exploring the rough with pen, paper, GPS, and insect nets - every detail is part of comprehensive monitoring.
At BWG Health, we stand behind such innovative initiatives that not only protect the environment but also promote the beauty and sustainability of our community. We look forward to continuing to stand by Golfclub Grünbach's side and supporting the biodiversity of our region!
